Strategic Commissioning Board
As part of the Bury Locality Plan for Health and Social Care Transformation 2017 to 2021, and progressing the wider public service reform agenda, there is a commitment to full alignment and integration between the Council and the Clinical Commissioning Group to form the Bury Health and Social Care One Commissioning Organisation.
As part of this commitment, the statutory bodies have agreed to form a single ‘Strategic Commissioning Board’ in Bury from the 1st October 2019 to bring together the integrated governance of health and social care commissioning in its widest sense.
The Strategic Commissioning Board has a wide ranging responsibility for all matters relating to health, social care and the Council’s ‘health related’ functions, which can be delegated to it (subject to reserved matters) under the main legal mechanism set out at Section 75 of the National Health Services Act 2006.
The Strategic Commissioning Board has been established as a Joint Committee, under the NHS Bodies and Local Authorities Partnership Arrangements Regulations 2000 (as amended) to support the delivery of health and care integration in Bury.
